- This tutorial is for The Sims ii but.
Every bit mentioned in the fugitive abuse game guide, deleting a Sim in the family bin will corrupt the neighborhood the Sim was in. This is due to the fact that Sims deleted in the family unit bin are not removed entirely; their character file is unlinked but leftover bits of data is however left to migrate around the neighborhood files, attaching themselves to other Sims and eventually throwing a monkey wrench into the works. Fifty-fifty if no Sims are deleted, the neighborhood can still be in danger due to its graphic symbol file limit (1000 files for base game and University users, 32767 in Nightlife and afterwards). Since deleting Sims in the family unit bin doesn't remove the character file (and even so corrupts your neighborhood in the process!), one might ask, "How do I *safely* delete Sims without causing whatsoever sort of corruption?"

If you are simply trying to get rid of an unwanted Sim, simply impale them, click on their urn/gravestone, select "Move to Community Lot", move them out, so load and save the destination lot to brand sure the graves were delivered safely. It's best to have a designated "cemetery lot" that you lot can ship the graves to. Graves sent to these lots practise not have to exist visited, and the ghosts tin't leave the lot to crusade any trouble!
If y'all are using this method to reduce the corporeality of Sims in your neighborhood - continue in mind that the best style to keep the population count depression is to non create so many Sims in the outset place. There are mods that tin can assist with this:
- NoTownieRegen, prevents the game from generating new townies.
- Anti-Redundancy, prevents the game from generating new NPCs, but assuasive 1 Sim to exist generated per NPC type, instead of the standard three Sims per NPC type per neighborhood.
- NoSSrespawn, prevents the game from generating new cloak-and-dagger society members.
- NoDormieRespawns, prevents the game from generating new dormies.
- NoStrayRespawn, prevents the game from generating new strays.

- midgethetree_apartmentresidents, allows the game to pick safe NPCs, regular townies, and downtownies as apartment neighbors and roommates instead of social grade townies, eliminating the need of generating them.
Deleting all Sims from a neighborhood [ ]
Some players may wish to remove all Sims from a neighborhood, while simultaneously keeping the lots and neighborhood decorations intact. While information technology may be possible to utilise the aforementioned method of deleting Sims to empty out a neighborhood, it is boring and lengthy, and may cause corruption anyhow. A much better alternative is to follow these instructions, which involves creating a new neighborhood so copying the terrain and lots over.
